Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, January 4, 1933, page 1, col. 7 Asthma and bronchial influenza combined with a heart attack caused the death suddenly at seven-thirty o'clock last night of James W. Price, seventy-one years old, in the 810 East Sheldon street home of his son, John Price, candidate for the Democratic nomination for state representative from Yavapai county, district No. 4, in the September primary election. The older Mr. Price, who has lived here with his son for the last three years and visited here during the summers for the seven years before, developed the bronchial influenza Christmas. He was born in Decatur, Ala., July 26, 1861, the year the Civil war broke out and spent practically all of his life in or near Decatur prior to coming west. By trade he was a carpenter and millwright. Alabama was the place of his marriage and the state where all seven of his children were born. In addition to the son here, he is survived by two other sons and four daughters - J. D. Price of Decatur; Frank Price, Los Angeles; Mrs. Celia (Frank) Clark, Globe, Ariz.; Mrs. Carrie (Earl) Rogers, Miami, Ariz.; Mrs. May (Charles) Strine, Los Angeles; and Miss Emma Price, Los Angeles. He also has a brother surviving, Thomas, Price, residing in San Marcos, Texas. Pending word from these sons and daughters, burial arrangements will not be ready to announce, though the funeral will take place here followed by burial in one of the local cemeteries.
