The Payson Roundup, Payson, Arizona, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 Charles “Charlie” H. Walker U.S. Veteran October 24, 1924 - April 25, 2014 After 89 years, Charles “Charlie” H. Walker passed away peacefully at home in Payson on Friday, April 25, 2014. Born Oct. 24, 1924 in Newport, N.H., Charlie lived in Arizona since 1973. During World War II, he served honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps. By profession, Charlie worked in television and radio service and sales, retiring in 1975. Charlie will be missed by his wife, Lula; his children, Bari (Ronald) Ellis, Terry (Ofelia) Walker, Ron (Doris) Walker, David (Betty) Lyons, Jim (Shirley) Lyons, Steve (Faye) Lyons, Sharon (Karl) McCormick, Connie (Robert) Gearhart and John Collins; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey and son, Chuck Collins. Charlie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 29, 1956. It brought him great joy to share his Bible based hope with anyone who would listen. He served as an elder for many years in the Payson Congregation. He always talked about the joy of being in the New World with all of his Loved ones in the very near future. Revelation 21:3-5. Friends are invited to join Charlie’s family at the memorial service at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1616 N. McLane Rd., Payson, Ariz.
