Hillsboro Argus/Forest Grove Leader (Hillsboro OR) Friday, January 18, 2013 Stella Lavina Pulliam Wirick, born Aug 31, 1912, to Alice and William Pulliam in El Dorado, Okla., died in her sleep Jan 11, 2013 at her residence, Wynwood Care Center, Hillsboro. Greatly respected, she leaves a heritage of giving and service, constant prayers and trust and belief in her Loving God. Stella worked as a chef in New Mexico, Arizona, Bend, Salem and Portland. She married Arthur A Wirick, lovingly known as "Boppie" on July 27, 1967. Sharing their love for fiddle music, gardening and travel, their retirement was split between Boring, Goldendale, Wash. and Black Canyon City, Ariz. Stella loved to collect dolls, crochet and was an avid "Rock Hound". In August of 2012, she celebrated her 100th birthday at a favorite event, a picnic. She was the sixth of seven children, all who have preceded her in death. Stella is survived by four children, Deward Delbert (George), Bobby Lois (Barbara), Kenneth Gene and Larry Keith; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Interment will be at Crescent Grove Cemetery & Mausoleum, in Tigard. A memorial service to be held at a later date.
