Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, January 2, 1951, page 3, col. 3 Matilda Hurd Taken by Death Mrs. Matilda Hurd, 73, who had been employed as a janitress at the Prescott city hall for the past 25 years, passed away Sunday at her home, 222 S. Marina street. Mrs. Hurd was born at Leesburg, Va., on Sept. 25, 1877. She was a resident of Prescott for the past 38 years and except during her illness of the past few months was employed most of that time by the city. Her husband passed away many years ago. Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Maggie Kratzer of Prescott. Funeral services are pending at the Hunter-Douglass Mortuary.
