MONGINI, Rafael Robert Emilio

Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Rafael Robert Emilio Mongini (March 8, 1997 - May 17, 2014) Rafael Robert Emilio Mongini, age 16, died on May 17. Rafael was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala and came to this country at the age of 3 as the adopted son of Michael and Jeni Mongini of Flagstaff. He attended Eva Marshall Elementary grade school and was a sophomore at Northland Preparatory Academy at the time of his death. Rafael spent his free time writing poems, short stories and composing music. He enjoyed singing and acting, participated in several summer theatre programs and was a member of the Northland Prep Junior choir. His family treasured his soft smile, gentleness, and ability to see the good in every person. They request that memorial contributions be channeled to the Flagstaff Guidance Center for crisis services (928-527-1899) or Our Little Brothers and Sisters homes for orphaned children (see NPH.org). Holy Rosary will be 9:30, Friday, May 23rd, Memorial Mass will be at 10am both being held at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, 1600 E. Route 66. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery followed by a Celebration at the Elks Lodge.
