Lita D. Rios, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Mesa, Ariz.
Lita was born to Henry De La Torre and Juanita Morales De La Torre on Aug. 18, 1926 in Miami, Ariz. Lita was a graduate of Miami High School.
Lita lived in Miami, Ariz. her entire life. She was a homemaker and a mother to Manuel J. Rios. Lita’s family loved her homemade beans and tortillas — they were the “best ever.” Lita walked to church on Sundays. She attended Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She loved reading books and she was extremely detailed in the finer points of her personal belongings. In her younger years she loved going on picnics with her sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicente and Gilbert and their families.
Lita was survived by her son, Manuel J. Rios; her brother, Henry De La Torre; her sisters, Jessie Rivera and Mary Cardona and many nieces and nephews.
Lita was preceded in death by her husband John S. Rios, her father; Henry De La Torre, her mother; Juanita Morales De La Torre, her brothers Cruz De La Torre and Ishmael Van Order, and daughter-in-law Lynn.
Services will be held at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament of the Catholic Church, on Friday, May 23, 2014, in Miami, Ariz. Family visitation is at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m.
Burial immediately following will be at Mt. Breeze Memorial Garden Cemetery in Miami, Arizona.
