Jeff passed away May 15, 2014 at his residence in Lake Havasu City of
heart disease. He was born June 26, 1961, and was soon adopted by Joseph
S. and Joan D. Guylas in Alliance, Ohio.
He graduated from Lincolnview High School in Van Wert, Ohio, in 1981 and
later became a student and resident of Stewart Home School in Frankfort,
Ky. In 2000, he moved to Tucson, to live near his family following his
father’s death.
Jeff was an avid sports fan and loyally supported his favorite teams,
especially the Ohio State Buckeyes, Kentucky Cardinals and more
recently, Lake Havasu High School Knights. A gifted athlete himself, he
won numerous bowling titles and won a gold medal in the Special Olympics
World Competition in 1995 in the Golf event. He held various jobs before
he became a handyman and caretaker for his precious Mother for the last
ten years. Jeff rescued numerous dogs, which he loved like family
members. He was well known for his caring and generous acts of kindness.
He is survived by his mother Joan, of Lake Havasu City; his sister, Jody
and husband Mike Roll of Tucson, along with two nephews, Luke and
Matthew Summersett of Tucson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph in 2000.
A memorial service will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 21 Riviera
Blvd., Friday at 1 p.m. with the Pastor Timothy Coop of The Crossing
Church in Las Vegas officiating. A reception to celebrate his life and
achievements will follow at Lake Havasu High School, 2675 S. Palo Verde
Blvd. in the gymnasium.
The family requests memorials be made to Lake Havasu Unified School
District and Western Arizona Humane Society.
