Vining Funeral Home, Safford, Arizona Katherine Susanna Harmon March 31, 1931 - May 19, 2014 Katherine Susanna (Costner) Harmon went to be with the Lord May 19, 2014. She was born in Pima, Arizona on March 31, 1931, to Henderson Lee Costner and Susanna Rogers of Pioneers and settlers Joseph Knight Rogers and Louisa Christina Roseberry Rogers. Kathy was born and raised in Pima. At one point in her life she was the secretary to the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints President Spencer W. Kimball. Kathy went on to Brigham Young University, earning an Associates Degree, met and married Clyde J. Harmon, and had eight children. She was well known for making beautiful wedding cakes. Kathy was very well loved, very giving, and made everyone around her feel special. Kathy is survived by: her children: Curtis, Kristy, Susan, Russell, Jeanine, Lori, Marcy, Greg; her former husband and father to their eight children, Clyde Harmon; two sisters, Rochelle Poulsen (Gary) and Martha Francese (Gary); twenty-one grandchildren; and seventeen great- grandchildren. Funeral services for Kathy will be conducted Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 10:00 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 1852 North Stapley Drive in Mesa. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., also at the church. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, at 4:00 p.m., at the Pima Cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge Beehive Homes of Apache Junction for the wonderful care they gave Kathy this last two years.
