Benson E. Lee
Benson E. Lee, age 74, passed away in his home in Prescott, March 25, 2003. He was born in Mesa, Ariz., on March 7, 1929, to Benson Lee, Sr. and Anna (Angulo) Lee.
He lived most of his life in Phoenix working as a carpenter after graduating from Phoenix Union High School. He became a skilled craftsman, building custom homes for nearly 40 years in the Valley.
Ben is survived by his wife, Doris, whom he married in 1949; his four children, sons, Daniel B. Lee of Scottsdale, David A. Lee of Gilbert, Ariz., Douglas E. Lee of Prescott Valley, and one daughter, Sharon Sprinkler of Ft. Lee, Va.
Ben was one of 10 children, five who preceded him in death. Four remaining are, Robert lee of Peoria, Annabelle Powell of Flagstaff, Gardner Lee of Phoenix and George Lee of Camp Verde; also many nieces and nephews.
He was a great Diamondbacks fan and loved sports of all kinds, especially baseball. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and friend to many. He provided well for his family and worked hard at everything he did including helping others. He was faithful to God and his church, both in Phoenix, and Prescott.
He and his wife built their home in Groom Creek and retired there in February 1993, later moving to Prescott in June 2000.
He was loved and respected by all who know him. His life was and example of Christian love and faithfulness and he now has his reward in Heavne.
A Celebration of Ben's life will be held at the Willow Hills First Southern Baptist Church of Prescott on Friday, March 28, at 10:30a.m., with Rev. Jesse Lilies officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please give a memorial in Ben's name to: his church, 1071 Mogollon Rd., Prescott, AZ 86301, The Cancer Society, or Hospice Family Care, 100 E. Sheldon St. #100, Prescott, AZ 86301.
The Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
