Susan Lorraine Strahsburg

Susan Lorraine Strahsburg was born in Grafton, ND September 7, 1950. She was raised in Kent, Washington where she graduated from Kent-Meridian High School in 1969.
She is preceded in death by her Father, Harry Lorraine Manson and husband Albert Wayne Strahsburg who both passed away in 2011.
She is survived by her Mother, Elsie Jean Bryan, Step-Father David Laverne Bryan, Daughter Victoria Dawn Castro (husband David), Grandsons Josh, Alex and Buck Castro, Great Granddaughter Ava Castro, Son Michael Jay Jacobs, (wife Crissy), Granddaughters Sammie and Makaila Jacobs, Grandson Ethan Jacobs, Brother Richard Earl Manson (wife Carol), Sister Carol Lee Champney (husband, Roger), and several nieces and nephews.
Susan had accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and therefore knew her ultimate home was in heaven. She was actively involved with the Salvation Army in Yakima, WA for over 20 years until she moved to Tucson, AZ in 2008 where she continued her involvement with the Tucson Amphi Corps. She faithfully rang bells at Christmas time for the Salvation Army in Yakima during the 1990’s and early 2000’s, as well as delivered the publication War Cry to various businesses.
In Tucson, she continued her service to the Lord by visiting nursing homes, distributing the War Cry, and was recently honored as the Lead Correspondent for the Amphi Corps. She made sure everyone was honored with a card in recognition of their birthday, or anniversary. A true servant at heart, Susan willingly gave of her talents. Most recently she was into baking various kinds of breads and each week the Amphi Corps benefitted from one of her new recipes.
Susan worked as a maid at the Oxford Inn Suites in Yakima for 20 years. She was an honored and faithful employee.
Susan loved reading God’s Word. She had several different versions of the Bible and read out of all of them. She also read daily Devotionals based on God’s Word. Her favorite author was Max Lucado.
Sue also loved animals and visiting the Sonoran Desert Museum. She would be pleased that her beloved parakeets, Pretty Bird and Cheep have found a welcome home at the “J” in Tucson AZ with her niece JoDee Lawson.
