SCHOU, Russell Anderson


The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama September 28, 2009 Russell Anderson Schou was born in Miami to the painter Emil Schou and his wife Sonnova. He served honorably in the Navy at the end of World War II, then apprenticed in photography and lithography. He married his childhood sweetheart, Karla Nielsen, in 1949, and they had a son, Carl, in 1954. He was one of the founders of the Eastern Press Printing Co. in New Haven, Conn., and was a vice president of the company when he retired in 1992. After retirement, Russell and Karla moved to Prescott, Ariz. Karla died in 2007 and Russell moved to Huntsville in July 2009 to be closer to his son. He passed away Saturday. Visitation and a brief service will be held between 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday at Spry Funeral Home, 2411 Memorial Parkway, Huntsville.
