The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 06/06/2014 Gloria Mae Locke, 86, passed into the Lord’s hands May 30, 2014, after an extended illness. She was born in Milo, Maine, to Phillip and Leola Morin. She was raised in Maine and graduated Hussin College with a secretarial degree. Gloria married the love of her life, John Locke, Feb. 17, 1948. And to this union, they bore three children. John was stationed at Loring AFB, Maine, until 1958 when they moved to Tucson. Upon retirement, they moved to Pinetop, where they resided for the rest of their lives. Gloria enjoyed gardening, reading, entertaining and especially square dancing, where Gloria and John served as president of the White Mountain Rim Rompers Square Dancing club for several years. She is survived by Carolyn Dunten of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., David Locke (Rene’) of Vail and Bob Locke (Kay) of Pinetop; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and sister Marilyn. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at St. Mary of the Angels in Pinetop, followed by a luncheon in the hall.
