HARRIS, Alta (Bonney)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, June 06, 2014 Alta "Bonney" Harris is a very special and beloved mom, gramma, wife, and friend to all. She leaves this world with a deep love for family, friends, art, miniatures, dogs and a full life where she will be blessed in heaven. She was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Akron, Ohio to Walter and Lillian (Sorrenson) Merritt. She passed away June 4, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Christine Sanchez of Glendale, Ariz.; son Andrew Harris of Orange, Calif.; grandchildren Kate Holt, Amanda Sanchez, Hannah Harris, and George Harris; and great-grandchildren Ashley Holt and Josh Holt. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George; her son John; and daughter Katherine. Bonney was very involved with painting and art, miniatures, dogs, family, and the Prescott community. She was very proud of her family, her paintings and miniatures. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at the University of Akron and St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Prescott. Memorials in Bonney's name can be sent to the Prescott Meals on Wheels program. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 2000 Shepherd's Lane in Prescott. Burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott will follow.
