Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow, Winslow, Arizona Peggy Dixon March 11, 1938 - June 02, 2014 Our Mother, Peggy G. Dixon, 76 of Joseph City, AZ has passed on to join the lord and other family members that passed before her. She was born March 11, 1938 in Fresno CA, and left us on June 2, 2014 after a long courageous fight with COPD. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her, but especially by her four sons. She was a Sister, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and loved every one of these titles. After moving frequently with her husband Don W. Dixon and the four boys, she was able to finally put down roots here in Joseph City since 1976. She worked for APS Cholla Power Plant as an auxiliary operator until her retirement. She loved having her sons and their families near her and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren being close by also. She met her husband Don, in Ft. Smith Arkansas, and they were married in 1959. Peggy & Don had four sons all born in Carlsbad, NM. They Lived in many places because of Don's mining job and later as a Mechanic, they include Wichita KS., Grand Junction CO., Moab and Payson UT., Pleasant Hill and San Leandro CA., Fallon, NV and finally Joseph City. Peggy was a strong dedicated lady and mother. Every time Don said they had to move, she would pack up all four of her little boys and off they would go. She rarely complained at all because those four little boys were her pride and joy, that you could see on her face until the end. All you had to do was ask about them and you were in for long story, and she had lots of stories, you rarely heard the same one twice. We will miss her every second of every day, but we are relieved that our Mother can breathe again on her own and she can rest after a full life of up's and down's. She can be proud of a life well lived. She is survived by her sons, Bob, David, Harold and Tim; sister, Verlean of Holtville, CA. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Fred and Dona Miller, her four brothers, Willard, Bud, Bill and Claudie; husband Don Dixon; grandsons, Cory and Christopher Robert; Granddaughters, Alicia and Jennifer and Daughter-in -Law Jamie Mecey-Dixon. Services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Calvary Chapel 1202 W Hopi Dr, Holbrook, AZ at 2:00 pm.
