Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Sunday, June 08, 2014 Maria Guadalupe (Lupe) Garcia 85 of Flagstaff, AZ was called home on Thursday, June 5th 2014. She was born to the late Merced and Francisca (Lomeli) Rodriguez on December 3rd 1928 in Flagstaff, AZ. Lupe was married for 68 years to the love of her life, Sylvester (Silver) Garcia. They lived and raised a family in Flagstaff. Lupe and Silver along with other family members; owned and operated La Fonda Mexican Restaurant in Flagstaff. Lupe was an active member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband Silver, 6 children; Anita Martinez of Camp Verde, Julian Garcia of Camp Verde, Rosalie (Jeffrey) Kiddoo of Camp Verde, Marty Garcia of Flagstaff, Rita (John Lott) Garcia of Peoria and Ruben (Mariah Freemyer) of Flagstaff. 26 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren and 6 Sisters. Lupe will be remembered as a faithful Wife, loving Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother and Sister who will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her brother Johnny Rodriguez, sister Trinidad Martinez, Sons-in-law Rodrigo Martinez and Malcolm Ahasteen and daughter-in-law Joan Garcia. Rosary and Mass will be held at San Francisco de Asis Parish 1600 East Route 66 Flagstaff, AZ. On Monday, June 9th 2014 at 10:00 and 11:00 respectively. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to her favorite charity, St. Vincent de Paul.
