POTOKAR, Ray


Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on June 10, 2014 - Ray Potokar went to meet his God in the arms of his loving wife, Gisela (Gizzy), on June 4, 2014; they were married for 49 years. He was born in Cleveland in 1939 to Tony and Gail Potokar. He is survived by his wife; son, Bill; son, Doug (Blessie); daughter, Doris (Travis) McKinley; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and five sisters in Ohio. Ray loved all his family, RVing, railroads, metal detecting and playing chess. He served aboard the submarine the USS Chivo 341 for four years. He was a stockbroker, a real estate broker and painting contractor. Ray spent four years as Scoutmaster in Colorado Springs, Colo. He started college at Kent State, and then got his degree in business and finance at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. He enjoyed his time as a member of the Kingman Railroad Club and the chess club. A celebration of his life will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 13, (he loved Fri. the 13th), at Generation Church, 3130 Gordon (located east of Bank Street).
