Old Resident Dies After Long Illness

An old resident of Yavapai County passed away with the death of Mrs. Catherine McDonald of this city at her home on East Sheldon street at 9 o'clock Saturday morning.
Services were held at Ruffner's funeral parlors Monday afternoon. Interment was at the Citizens; cemetery.
Mrs. Hoagland was born August 29, 1849, in the East, and came to Yavapai in 1881. She and her husband settled at Lynx creek and lived there for a time, he being engaged in mining and that district. Mr. Hoagland died 35 years ago, six years after he arrived in Arizona.
Mrs. Hoagland succumbed in her seventy-third year. She had been ill all winter, following a paralytic stroke early in February. She is survived by her grandson, John Spiller of Albuquerque, who was here for the funeral, and by four granddaughters, Mrs. Hicks of Chicago, and the Misses, Annie, Elsie, and Catherine Hicks all of this city. She was buried beside her daughter Mrs. Hicks, of this city.
