Randall "Randy" Douglas Hewitt, 59, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., entered into the Lord's hands on June 13, 2014.
"The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him." Proverbs 20:7
He was born Jan. 26, 1955, in Erie, Pa., to Regina and Mason Hewitt II, and moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1963. Randy attended Saguaro High School and Prescott High School, was a Boy Scout for many years and obtained the Eagle Scout level as a teenager. He attended Yavapai College for welding and started his welding business, Kenart Metals, in 1980. Randy married Hope in 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Hope Hewitt; daughter Michelle (Mike) Hewitt-Simmons; son Christopher (Kimberly) Hewitt; daughter Amanda (Raymond) Hewitt-See; 10 grandchildren he adored; sisters Christine and (Carl) Witteman and Jeannie Hewitt; sister-in-law Connie Hewitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Regina and Mason Hewitt II and brother Mason Hewitt III.
Family was his world along with Jesus; he was rough around the edges but a heart of gold.
Randy was an avid hunter, sportsman and a member of Granite Mountain Archery Club. You can see his welding work throughout the Prescott tri-city area at the Prescott Fine Arts building, Ruger expansion, Yavapai College, Glassford Hill's Middle School and hundreds of custom wrought-iron work pieces for residents.
Randy's Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, "God's World" Fellowship Hall, 3950 N. Valorie Drive, Prescott, Valley, Ariz. Luncheon to follow.
