LUDWIG, Charles (Bill)


Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona December 11, 1996 Charles "Bill" Ludwig of Tucson, and formerly of Yarnell, died Dec. 8 in Tucson. He was 73. Mr. Ludwig was born Oct 11, 1923 in Dola, Ohio. He had lived in Arizona for the past 30 years. Mr. Ludwig was a U.S. veteran in World War II. He was a Charter Life Member of the BPOE in Parker, Ariz., and a life member VFW in. Kenton, Ohio. Mr. Ludwig was a 51-year of American Legion Post 79 in Yarnell, serving with the military honor guard of that post. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Yarnell, serving mass for many priests in that church. Mr. Ludwig worked his entire life as a farmer in Dola, Ohio, and Poston, Ariz. -- farming in agriculture crops. He never knew, a stranger and will be greatly missed by family and friends. His favorite was reading and he was a history buff. Mr. Ludwig also loved to watch on TV and in person the Indy car races and all sports events. When he lived in Ohio, he loved to go fishing; He was a very social kind of guy. Survivors include his daughter Ginger Liebrecht of Tucson; daughter and son-in- law Peggy and Jack Skeen of Stansbury Park, Utah; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law Ron and Nedra Fortune of Lakewood, Colo.; brothers Dale Ludwig of Yuma and Everett Ludwig of Ada, Ohio; six grandchildren; four great-children; and his first wife and friend, June Ludwig-Ericson. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn G. Fortune-Ludwig in 1989. Visitation will be today (Wednesday, Dec. 11) from 10 a.m. to noon at Wickenburg Funeral Home. Mass will follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Yarnell. Fr. John Faustina will officiate. Burial will be Genung Memorial Park in Peeples Valley.
