KARNEY, Dorothy (Dottie)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, June 20, 2014 Dorothy (Dottie) Karney went to be with Jesus on May 29, 2014. She was born on the Shellhorn family property in Bern, Kansas, on the Kansas/Nebraska line on Dec. 9, 1922. She later moved to Kansas City, where she met and married Ralph Wells and they moved to Phoenix in 1939. Ralph preceded her in death in 1954. Dottie loved fishing and enjoyed many crafts and volunteering during her lifetime. She never met a stranger. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Brunso, and son Stephen Wells of Prescott, Ariz.; grandson Sven Brunso, wife Beth and their children, Stowe and Aspen of Durango, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews. For the past five years, Dottie was lovingly cared for by the wonderful staff at Prescott Samaritan Village. A memorial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at the American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott.
