The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 Lt. Col. Richard W. Leisinger, Ret., passed away suddenly June 4, 2014. Col. Leisinger resided in Prescott for over 20 years. Col. Leisinger had many commendations and medals in his 21-year career in the U.S. Army. He was passionate about the American Flag, his antique Studebaker cars, poker nights and his Subway sandwiches. He is survived by his five children, Robin Pennington of El Paso, Texas, Roxanne Chastain of Palmer Lake, Colo., Ross Leisinger of Tonapah, Nev., Rozalind Graham of Broken Arrow, Okla. and Reed Leisinger of Pasco, Wash. He was also a proud grandpa of nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Our heartfelt thanks go out to his McQueen Crescent neighbors. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. There will be a memorial celebrating his life 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at the Comfort Inn Suites meeting room, 2601 Crownpointe Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz. We are encouraging anyone who would like to speak and share a favorite story or memory to do so. Full military honors will be conducted 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at the Prescott National Cemetery. Information provided by survivors.
