ARREDONDO, Cordillia (Cokie) M.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 On May 13, 1952, Cordillia "Cokie" M. Arredondo came into this world, smiling, feet already dancing before they were able to touch the floor. For those of you who knew her, she would have asked nothing less of you than to play some Motown music, open a can of Bud Light and dance for her as she entered Eternal Life on June 18, 2014. Cokie was received into this world by her parents, Mary Jacques Arredondo and Pete S. Arredondo, the seventh of eight children. As a sister, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, she is irreplaceable. Having grown up surrounded by the love of her family, it became her nature to always pass on love and good will to others. She never met a stranger. She exuded love of life by dancing, and will always be remembered as a happy, lovely, strong-willed and accomplished woman, with an enormous heart, an infectious smile and the ability to trust and be trusted, always giving the benefit of the doubt and never saying "no" to those in need of help. An accomplished Histotechnician, Cokie worked for Pathology Associates Laboratory until December 1995, at which time she founded and operated Slide Processing & Referral Laboratory until early 2013. In addition, she was part owner in a waterjet business, Southwest Waterjet, Inc. Cokie will never be forgotten. She leaves a huge void in the lives of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Her genuinely lovely and happy smile and the heartfelt love she extended will forever be in the hearts and memories of those who were blessed enough to be a part of her life. She is survived by her loving and caring daughter, Mona Arredondo, of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Lupe (Robert) Enriquez, Nellie Gaitan and Mary Lou Alvarado of Prescott, Ariz.; her beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Melissa, Elijah and Elisabeth of Phoenix, Ariz.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cokie has now been reunited with her mother, father and her brothers, Peter, George, Larry and Fred Arredondo. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, Ariz. A celebration of life Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S. Rural Road, Tempe, Ariz. Internment will follow at Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery.
