Philip E Holt 62, of Cornville passed away peacefully in the care of Banner Hospice of Peoria on June 10, 2014.
He was born on 8/11/1951 in Springer, NM to Ethel & Carl Holt.
He was raised in Cottonwood and graduated from Mingus Union High School in 1970 where his name shines in the record books.
Phil was an extreme athlete in football and baseball. He also coached several little league teams and played on men's softball teams.
Phil went to work for Phoenix Cement in 1972 and retired from almost 30 years with the plant.
He loved the Arizona wilderness and he took great pride in sharing his love for hunting, fishing and camping with is family and close friends. He also enjoyed countless trips to Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gaye Holt, sons Todd Holt of Cornville, Clay (Kelly) Holt of Cornville; grandchildren, Shelby, Garrett and Jacy. He is also survived by Sister Nola Sebunia of Wisconsin and several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
There will be a day of remembrance on July 12th at the Old Corral in Cornville. Phil was a very caring, giving man. We will miss you Pops.
