Orville P. Knudtson of Yuma, Ariz., died on Saturday, June 14, 2014. He was born on Jan. 25, 1921, in Milford, Iowa, to Knudt S. Knudtson and Mary Knudtson.
He married Virginia Sample in 1944. They farmed first near Terril, Iowa, and later near Spring Valley, Minn. In 1963, he moved his family to Arizona where they lived in Prescott, Ariz., where he raised and trained Arabian horses until they relocated to Yuma in 2008.
He is survived by his sons, Jon (Leone Neegan) of Yuma and Kris (Chrissie) of Benson; his brother Freeman of Spencer, Iowa; his sister Marie Welle (Bud) of Milford, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Rose Jones Knudtson; his sisters Greta Dannatt and Rose Anderson; his brother Kenneth; and his beloved wife, Virginia.
The family suggests donations to Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church, 11273 E. 40th St., Yuma, Ariz.
