Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow, Winslow, Arizona Louise Shirley Cronemeyer February 15, 1932 - June 29, 2014 Louise Shirley Cronemeyer, wife of Walter Curtis Cronemeyer, Sr., a Navajo Code talker, entered into rest on June 29, 2014 at the age of 82. She was in her home surrounded by her loved ones in Winslow, AZ. Louise was born February 15, 1932 in Standing Rock, NM into Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Salt People Clan. She was a beautiful, strong and compassionate woman that raised nine children on her own after the death of her husband in 1971. She loved sewing, watching her war & western movies, and seeing all her grandchildren. Louise leaves behind a sister, Eleanor Spires and seven children; Terri (Arnold) Sazue of Lower Brule, SD, Patricia (Walter) Sprengler, Yvonne Cronemeyer, Kathleen (Mark) Dragoo, Ronald Cronemeyer, Donald (Cindy) Cronemeyer & Robert (Vickie) Cronemeyer all of Winslow, AZ. She also leaves behind 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charley & Annie Shirley; husband Walter Cronemeyer, Sr.; sisters, Elizabeth Bowman, Ida Hale & Sarah Murphy ; brothers, Albert, Milton, Wayne, Herman, Elton, Melford, Benjamin, Dennis & Benson Shirley; sons, Walter Cronemeyer, Jr. And Lynn Cronemeyer; granddaughter, Raedawn Cronemeyer and great granddaughter, Deja Sazue. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2 from 6 to 7 PM at Greer’s Mortuary Chapel. Holy Rosary will be recited on July 3, 2014 at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Mass will be at 10:00 AM with Celebrant Father Lawrence O’Keefe. Interment to follow at Desert View Cemetery.
