Louise Messenger, 95, moved to her mansion on June 28.
She was born in Rio, Ill., on Feb. 14, 1919. She attended nurse’s training at St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago and graduated with an R.N. degree in 1940. She practiced private duty nursing for 28 years and worked as a nursing home director for two years.
She was married to Lawrence P. Hansen and had four children. She retired and moved to Wickenburg where she lived until the death of her second husband, Ray Messenger. She moved back to North Barrington, Ill., with her son and then to Rockford, Ill. She is survived by four children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 16 in Thomson, Ill. Arrangements are handled by Sundberg Funeral Home in Rockford.
