William C. Hobe, born Aug. 1, 1922 in Bannock, Ohio, passed into his Lord and Savior's arms on June 27, 2014. He was 91.
He went to elementary school in Bannock, Ohio and attended St. Clairsville High School, where he played on the high school golf team. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in December 1940. He remained in the Air Corps during World War II, where he contracted Malaria and was Honorably discharged in 1945.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years of marriage, Marian Audrey Hobe; his three sons, Craig Hobe (aka Hale Newman) of Cincinnati, Ohio, William J. Hobe of El Segundo and Los Angeles, Calif., Benjamin C. Hobe of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; daughter Joanne F. Hobe Puzak of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren, Hobie, Kelley and Stephanie Puzak.
Bill's work was experimental machinist for Howard Hughes Aircraft and TRW. He was a wonderful golfer.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the VA Chapel in Prescott, Ariz.
