The Payson Roundup, Payson, Arizona, Tuesday, July 08, 2014 Robert Ray Lynch U.S. Veteran August 5, 1927 - July 1, 2014 Robert Ray Lynch, born on Aug. 5, 1927 on the Lynch Farm in Blackhawk County, Iowa, was called to heaven on July 1, 2014. During his lifetime, Robert was a devoted son, husband and father. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. Robert worked for John Deere in Iowa, in Long Beach, Calif. at the Terminal Island shipyard, as well as for 35 years at American Pipe and Concrete/Ameron Pipe and Concrete in both Long Beach and Phoenix, Ariz. An avid hunter, he was an Eagle Scout, Scout Master, and a softball player with the Payson Cougars until he was 80. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Claude Clifford Lynch; mother, Alice Laverne Meyer; stepfather, Leo James Heid; wife, Gertha Mae Heller; daughter, Linda Rae Lynch (Grossenbacher); son, Craig Henry Lynch; and son-in-law, John Garrison Epps. Robert is survived by brothers, Roger Lynch, Larry Heid and Jim Heid; his oldest daughter, Kathy Lynch Epps; daughter, Patty (Patrick) Lynch O’Donnell; sons, Kirk (Maria) and Jim Lynch. Robert was also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest next to his beautiful and loving wife of 46 years at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center, Iowa.
