Violet “Chris” Vicario, 88, of Phoenix died Tuesday, July 9, 2014, in Glendale. She was born Dec. 6, 1925, to the late Nathan and Mary (Murphy) Jones in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Violet worked for 25 years as a space craft gyro technician for Sperry. On Sept. 12, 1942, she married Alfred in Indiana. Violet and Alfred lived in Providence, R.I., before moving to Phoenix in 1958. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful mother, wife and grandma who will be greatly missed.

Violet is survived by her loving spouse of 72 years, Alfred; two sons, Larry (Judy) Vicario and Dennis (Terry) Vicario; seven grandchildren, Gina, Jeff, Tommy, Stephanie, Jonathan, Jennifer and DJ; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Vicario.
