Richard Bernard Vollmann passed away June 24, 2014 in Lake Havasu City, 
at the age of 88. He was born Nov. 24, 1925 in Chicago to Peter Vollmann 
and Francis (Stark).

Richard was a proud veteran serving two years in the Navy, a faithful 
Catholic, also a member of the Elks, VFW and the Eagles. He has made 
Arizona his home for the last 24 years.

Richard is survived by his sons, Richard John Vollmann of Lake Villa, 
Ill. and Donald James Vollmann of Lake Havasu City; daughter, Sandra 
Susan Madsen of Lake Havasu City; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-
grandchildren. He lost his true love in 1999, wife, Helen Vollmann and 
his son, Michael Lee Vollmann in 2014.

Services were at Haben Funeral Home in Skokie, Ill., Monday, June 30, 
from 3 to 8 p.m. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph River Grove 
Cemetery in River Grove, Ill. There also will be a Veteran’s Memorial 
Service at the VFW, July 20, at 3:30 p.m. in Lake Havasu City; a 
reception will follow immediately after the service.
