Clinton Joseph Kriese, 78, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Show Low. He was born Jan. 17, 1936, in La Crosse, Wis., the son of Clinton Julius and Margaret Doyle Kriese.
Clint served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-57. He then attended college at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Electrical Engineer, from 1958-1962.
Clint played the lead guitar in a country western band in Rochester, N.Y., which was visited by many celebrities including George Jones and Patsy Cline. He became a maintenance engineering supervisor for several television networks including ABC, NBC and CBS.
As a chief engineer, his career took him to several locations around the United States including Phoenix, Ariz., Luke Air Force Base, Hollywood, Calif., and Corpus Christi, Texas, retiring in 1993.
Clint is survived by his wife, Neva L. Kriese of Quemado, N.M.; sons Gary (Janice) Kriese of Salt Lake City, Utah; Steven (Tracy) Kriese of Austin, Texas; stepsons David W. Markham of Gilbert and Darwin L. (Patti) Markham of Statesville, N.C.; sister Jeannie Kriese Kennedy of Peoria; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Irene Kriese Kelly, Mildred Kriese and Patricia Kriese Doherty; brother Roy John Kriese; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Burnham Mortuary in Eagar with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 30.
