Arrangements by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Friday, July 25, 2014 Ivan Orlando Gage passed away in peace on July 17, 2014, in Prescott, Ariz. Ivan was 70 years young and a resident of Prescott Valley, Ariz., since Jan. 16, 2013. His mother, Helen and father, John Gage predecease Ivan. Ivan was born on Oct. 27, 1943, in National City, Calif. He was greatly loved by his mother, Helen Walter Gage, and his father, John Bernard Gage. Ivan is survived by sister, Karen Cate of Meridian, Idaho; brother George Gage of Lincoln City, Ore.; brother Phil J. Gage and sister-in-law, Skeeter Lynch of Prescott, Ariz. Ivan moved with his family from San Diego to Princeton, Idaho, where he farmed and grew wheat, barley and hay and raised cattle and hogs. Ivan had milk cows and sold cream to the Potlatch Idaho Creamery in the 1960s. Ivan helped his family with farm chores and enjoyed planting the family garden with his mother Helen. In 1985, Ivan moved to Moscow, Idaho, and was employed by the University of Idaho and worked in the kitchen for several years. While in Idaho, Ivan enjoyed going to school with his friends and caring for his dog Brownie. In 2011, Ivan moved with his family, Phil and Skeeter, to Prescott. Ivan lived in his "very own home" in Prescott Valley with Advancement-Group and was very happy. Ivan attended "school" at Adult Care Services in Prescott Valley and enjoyed gardening with his friends. Ivan loved his new home, his caregivers and schoolmates and enjoyed every moment with smiles and laughter. Ivan was a special spirit who touched every person he met with love and joy. We will all miss him deeply and appreciate the time we had with him. Ivan's family is thankful to each person, agency, care setting, Dr. Downing and the State of Arizona for the loving support and exceptional care provided to our loved one, Ivan Gage. Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Ivan on at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, in the Chapel of the Valley at Fain Park in Prescott Valley. Pastor Eric Woods officiating.
