Green Valley News & Sun (AZ) - Sunday, January 12, 2014 Deceased Name: MARY FORREST CREEDON STEWAR MARY FORREST CREEDON STEWART Mary Forrest Creedon Stewart, 86, died peacefully on Dec. 11, 2013, in Cincinnati, where she'd been living since April 2011. Her daughter Maggie, who was at her side, said Mary was making people laugh right up until the end. Mary was born on Sept. 27, 1927 in Melrose, Mass., just north of Boston. Her family had summer homes on Great Brewster Island in Boston Harbor, where Mary kept a pet goat, and later in Sagamore Beach on Cape Cod Bay. She attended Bridgewater State Teachers College (now Bridgewater State University) and taught elementary school until marrying Walter J. (Jerry) Creedon, her childhood sweetheart, in August 1951. The couple moved to East Orange, N.J., Dallas, New Orleans and Wayzata, Minn., where they lived for 20 years while raising their five children. In 1981, Mary and Jerry, an insurance executive, moved to Denver, Colo., and later to Green Valley, Ariz. Mary was an accomplished swimmer, diver, tennis player and golfer. She had great personal style, with a flair for dressing and calligraphy. Her main passion was taking care of her children, and she always made sure that every lunch bag was decorated with their names in formal English script. Mary is predeceased by her husband Jerry, her second husband Clayton Bentley Stewart III, and her brother, Martin J. Forrest Jr. She is survived by her five children, William Forrest Creedon, Marjorie Creedon Morande, James Francis Creedon, Walter J. Creedon III and Catherine Creedon; her daughter-in-law Kimberly Creedon; sons-in-law Paul Morande and Scott Sandell; grandchildren Will and Ellie Creedon, Matt, Brian and Kevin Morande, and Ben and Per Sandell; granddaughter-in-law Molly Morande, great-grandaughter Luciana Morande, and Mary's beloved sister, Marjorie Forrest LaCroix.
