Felix "Cat" Carbajal has passed away to be with our Lord. Felix passed away on March 26, 2013, and was born on July 17, 1927, to Jose Maria Carbajal and Theresa Frasquillo in Fairbanks.
Cat is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Carbajal, Jose Maria Carbajal, Robert Carbajal and Don Carbajal; sister, Jessie C. Torrres; and first wife, Clara T. Carbajal.
Surviving Felix is his loving wife, Leonor Carbajal of 10 years of marriage. Also surviving are son, Victor Carbajal of Phoenix; daughters, Veronica and her husband, Mike Simmons of Phoenix, Diane L. Carbajal and her companion, Jumala Klien. He leaves behind three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survinging is his brother, Tony Carbajal of Bisbee.
Cat was a miner in Bisbee, Safford and Morenci. Cat enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, playing pool with family, music and singing.
He will truly be missed.
Rosary for Felix will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Tony Underwood. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Jundeh. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Walter Carbajal, Don Carbajal Jr., David Michael Lewis, Eddie Carbajal, Roy Lopez and D. George Lewis. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Carbajal, Ron Torres, Martin Martinez, Mario Martinez, Anthony Torres and Michael Fernandez.
The family thanks Sierra Vista Regional Hospital and staff, Dr. Oren Lamm and staff, Dr. Prido Polanco. A special thanks to the E.R. doctor James Gormen and staff, and a special thank you to the CNAs who assisted Felix.
