71, of Tucson, passed away October 15, 2006, from a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gilbert is survived by wife, Hope; sons, David (Geneva) of Tucson, Anthony of Tampa, FL; daughter, Pam (Shawn) Fiala of Omaha, NE; grandson, Ryan Fiala of Omaha, NE; brothers, Larry (Mary) Payton of Fountain Valley, CA, Frank (Judy) Payton of Leavenworth, KS, and many loving relatives and friends. Visitation Thursday, October 19, 2006, 500 - 700 p.m., Rosary 700 - 800 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 20, 930 a.m. at Desert Dove Chapel at D-M AFB. Interment will follow at Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, AZ, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail at 100 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in memory of Gilbert E. Carbajal at Sunstone Cancer Healing Center, 2545 N. Woodland Road, Tucson, AZ 85749.
