Arizona Daily Star, The (Tucson, AZ) - Friday, February 10, 2006 Deceased Name: William Tineo Vega Beloved son, brother and Uncle William Tineo Vega passed away peacefully on Sunday, February. 5, 2006, in Phoenix, Ariz., at the age of 47. He grew up in Sierra Vista and graduated from Buena High School in 1976. He joined the U.S. Army in 1976 with assignments as far as Camp Red Cloud, Korea during his four-year tenure. He attended four years of college at various institutions throughout Arizona after his enlistment. He was a very friendly, outgoing, caring, loving and adventurous individual with a free spirit. Willy enjoyed the outdoors and possessed a knowledgeable passion of automobiles. He was an artist and loved to work with his hands. He was a master of the affluent garage, and yard sales and could strike a great deal at the various flea markets. He was always ready to lend a helping hand no matter what the situation was. He charmed anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. He is preceded in death by one of his younger sisters, Norma Alicia Vega, who passed away at the tender age of 10 months. He is survived by his mother, Amalia Tineo Henderson; his father, Frank R. Vega; brothers Frank Vega Jr., Jerry (Karen) Vega, Alex Vega, David (Ofelia) Vega, Daniel Vega; sisters Betty Soto, Norma Lopez; stepbrother Andy Vega; stepsister Lizette Vega and a host of other stepsiblings; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. A viewing and memorial service is scheduled at Samaritan Funeral Home at 1505 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix, on Saturday, February 11, from 600 to 800 p.m. Graveside service will be held at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail, in Sierra Vista on Monday, February 13, at 1000 a.m. with military honors.
