SCHMIDT, Carlton (Leroy)


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, July 24, 2014 - Carlton (Leroy) Schmidt passed away peacefully July 12, 2014 next to his loving family. He was born Oct. 25, 1958, in National City, Calif. As a young boy at the age of five he moved with his family to Lake Havasu City where he attended school and later worked as a concrete finisher at B & L Concrete and then Frontier Concrete throughout the rest of his life. For those who knew Leroy, knew he was an adventurous man and loved the outdoors. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping and water skiing. He loved his dog Velvet, who stayed by his side until the end. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Gloria; five children, Ivy, Cassie, Sherry, Sara and Lucas; grandchildren, Jeslyn, Bradley, Joshua, Alexandra, Brooklyn and Cameron; brother, Calvin (Rose) Schmidt; sisters, Cindy (Tony) Vowell and Christine (Bill) Smith; nephews, James Harrington and Tyler Schmidt; nieces, Shaunna (Brett) Harrington, Shannon (Darin) Engels, Anna Schmidt, Breanna (Carlos) Aguilar and Nicole Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlton Albert Schmidt and Carol Gene Begay.
