Thelma Mayworm, 90, passed away peacefully at her residence July 18,
2014. Thelma was born to the late Carrie and Garfield Rice Aug. 26, 1923
in Manitoba, Canada.
Thelma grew up in Michigan and moved to Lake Havasu City in 1977. She
began her lifelong career as a real estate broker in 1978. She was
instrumental in helping so many fulfill their dream of home ownership in
the town that she loved. She was an active member of both the Board of
Realtors Association and the Real Estate Women’s Council. She was also a
member of the local Elk’s chapter and the Western Welcome Group.
Thelma is survived by her children, Ellen Wise of N. Las Vegas, Nev. and
Randy Lee Rollison of San Francisco; stepchildren, Father James Mayworm
and Dexter Mayworm, both of Florida, Barbara Mayworm, of Virginia and
son-in-law, Fred Bizovi. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 28
great-grandchildren, as well as numerous great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Rollison in 1961 and
Albert Mayworm in 1986; her parents, Carrie and Garfield Rice; sister,
Linda Bizovi; step-sister, Connie Rowe; and great-grandchild, Claire
Riley.
Throughout her many years in the community, she established many
connections and made many lifelong friends. She will be deeply missed by
everyone who knew her.
A memorial mass for Thelma will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Our Lady of
the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Father Paul Pulimalayil will be
officiating and offering words of comfort.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Thelma’s
name to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
