BACON, Samuel (Sam) Nigel

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Monday, July 14, 2014 Samuel (Sam) Nigel Bacon 10-13-94 to 7-10-14 On Wednesday night last week our beautiful son and friend Sam fell into a deep sleep that he did not wake up from. Sam arrived in our mountain town on a dark night with the first snows of the year. Through the Montessori preschool and elementary school on Switzer mesa to Flagstaff Middle School and his beloved Flagstaff High School. Sam used his open heart and beautiful smile to make legions of friends. He was deeply compassionate and loved and was loved fully and completely. He prided himself in his loyalty to family and friends above all else. Sam loved nature, wildlife and animals and lived to rescue those in need whether they had two legs, four or none. For Sam family was everything. He was the heart of many families. Sam is survived by his mother Amita Amanda Carder Welles and her partner, David Powers; his father Jake Philip Bacon; his sisters Miranda Fehrs, Bria Schierhold and Charlotte Bacon; his maternal grandparents Peter and Sondra Welles; and Aunt Christy Welles Maron; plus nephews Alexander and Petey; and by his paternal grandparents Dee and John Strachan; and his Aunt Susie Strachan; as well as great grandmother Elsie Smith. A celebration of life will be held at the Arizona Snowbowl Hart Prairie Lodge Tuesday, July 15th, at 10 a.m. All are welcome to come and celebrate Sam’s life. Please bring an umbrella.
