Howard Paul Derby, 86, of Lake Havasu City, (formerly New Brighton,
Minn.) died July 9, 2014 at the home of his son in Albuquerque, N.M. He
was born March 25, 1928 in Burke, S.D. Howard served in the Army during
World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed exploring the desert in his
jeep. He collected rocks and minerals and loved to make and design
jewelry. He also was an avid ham radio operator.
He was a loving husband of 56 years to Frances Rose Derby who preceded
him in death. His four children Yvonne, Mary, Leo, and Carol as well as
four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive him.
Internment for Howard and Frances will be at Fort Snelling Veteran’s
Cemetery in Minnesota.
