Lamont Mortuary of Globe, Globe, Arizona Walter Lee Jenkins, age 97, of Apache Junction, AZ passed away on August 4, 2014 at Mountain Vista medical Center in Mesa, AZ . Walter was a former resident of Globe. He was born in Hill City, Kansas on January 8, 1917 the son of Allen and Lillie (Holstein) Jenkins. He was a cowboy in his earlier days. He worked as a Shift Foreman for Inspiration Copper for 24 years. He also worked for Chrysotile Mine down by the Salt River Canyon. Walter was named Senior of the Year at the Globe Senior Center. He liked doing handyman work, little odd jobs here and there and enjoyed gardening. Visitation will be held at Lamont Mortuary Chapel on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow at the Old Globe Cemetery – Elks Section – in Globe, AZ.
