Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, August 6, 2014 - Homer Lee, 80, passed away July 29, 2014. Homer was born July 10, 1934 to the late Ethel and Andrew Lee in Brea, Calif. Homer was a fifty-two year member of the Internal Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Chapter #11 in Los Angeles. He served as an officer for eighteen years. He loved fishing, boating, golfing and reading. Westerns were his favorite. He also was a musician and enjoyed playing guitar and drums and loved to sing. He and Dorie celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on July 21st. Homer is survived by his wife, Doris; brother, Ed (Barbara) Lee of Kingman; sister, Joyce (Bob) Redfern of Florence, Ore.; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Ray Andre; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Gale Leatherman; cousins, Bill and Betty Melvin, Vida Johnson; son-in- law, Tom Verrell and many nieces and nephews. Homer also leaves behind three grandchildren, Amanda (Ken) Ormseth, Michael (Sonia) Verrell and Emily (Justin) Bunch as well as great-grandson Hayden Bunch and his beloved dog, “Maggie Lee”. Homer was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth (Weaver) Lee; daughter, Barbara Verrell and sister, Betty Downs. Homer was adored by many loving friends and will be sadly missed by those who knew him. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Homer’s honor to Hospice of Havasu or Western Arizona Humane Society. Services for Homer will take place at a later date.
