Church. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry Dunn and assisted by the Order

Earleen was the oldest daughter of Earle and Belle Whitmore. She
received her education in the Sheldon, Iowa, school, graduating with the
class of 1942. She excelled in business and secretarial work.
A first marriage resulted in the birth of her only child, a son, Dean
Bloemendaal. The family moved to a farm located in the Sibley, Iowa,
area. Due to a serious farm accident, the family realized farming could
no longer serve as their lifestyle. They moved to Spencer, Iowa, and
Earleen took a job as secretary and "Girl Friday" at A.Y. McDonald Mfg.
Company.
Problems in the marriage ensued and it was dissolved. Earleen and her
son, Dean, moved to Sioux City, Iowa, where Earleen was transferred to
the A. Y. McDonald branch. She was secretary to the purchasing agent and
in charge of one-half of a Kardex system, covering every item purchased
by the company.
After a while, Earleen took a job with Inner-State Oil Company, a
distributor for Conoco Oil Company, servicing several filling stations
in the area. It was there she met William Tone, manager of one of the
top stations. They had many dates and soon decided to marry. They moved
to California with son, Dean, and got married.
They enjoyed a busy social life. Dean joined the DeMolays. Bill was on
the DeMolay Dad Advisor Board. Earleen was president of the DeMolay
Mother's Club, as well as membership chairwoman of Montebello B.P.W.C.
and was a model for many of their fashion shows.
Soon Earleen and Bill decided to buy a home in Valinda, Calif. Now
Earleen changed jobs and became an executive secretary to five and was
also the office manager at Macomber Steel Company, who introduced steel
joists to construction.
Mr. Tone's health was causing much concern. Earleen encouraged her
husband to apply for an early retirement. They sold their home in
Valinda and moved to Kingman. Earleen became employed with Copeland
Lumber Company, retiring in 1990 after 12 years.
Earleen and Bill enjoyed a few short years of retirement together. They
had an active social life with the Shrine and Masonic chapters. They
joined the Order of Eastern Star and American Legion. Earleen joined the
hospital auxiliary and Rebekkah Lodge, assuming offices in both.
Mr. Tone's physical condition took a turn for the worst and the
remaining years became very confining for both.
In 2009, Earleen and Bill celebrated 50 years of marriage.
She is survived by: son, Dean Bloemendaal, Oregon; granddaughter and her
