LUNDBLAD, Kurt Dana


Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Kurt Dana Lundblad May 20, 1942 - July 31, 2014 Kurt was a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. He was a graduate of the University of Colorado and received his commission to Ensign through the Aviation Officer Candidate Program in April 1966. His first assignment was as an attack pilot flying the A-7 Corsair II from the USS ENTERPRISE as a part of Attack Squadron 146. During this cruise he flew 52 combat missions in Vietnam. He rose to the rank of Captain in his military career. At the end of his active duty he flew first for Western Airlines then Delta Airlines until his retirement. He and his wife, Anne, have been members of St. Mark's church for 7 years. When asked how he wanted to be remembered he replied, "I was a peacemaker, I always tried to do the right thing. I loved and was loved in return." A memorial service will be Thursday, August 7th at 11:00am in the small chapel at St. Mark's Catholic Church (2727 W. Tangerine Rd., Oro Valley, AZ 85737) Final resting place is to be decided and memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
