Fernando Pereyra
September 18, 1946 - July 29, 2014
Longtime Arizona resident Fernando Adam Pereyra, a former Aeronautics Mechanic and Marketing Executive, passed away July 29, 2014, at age 67. He was active until the last weeks of his life, living in his Marana home with his family and taking long walks around the neighborhood with his dog Angel.
He was born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and raised in Oakland, CA, a city he loved and was very proud of. His love for the city of Oakland made him a lifelong fan of the Raiders football team. He graduated from Oakland High and attended San Jose State University, where he graduated with degrees in Aeronautics and Business. While attending school, he worked as a mechanic for Western Airlines to provide for his growing family.
Fernando had lifelong ties to the airline industry starting his career in Northern California and eventually moving to Southern California. His career took him to Miami, and Tijuana, Mexico where he would meet Fabiola, his bride to be. Fernando and Fabiola settled together in Arizona soon after. Most recently, Fernando retired as the VP of Marketing for Marana Aerospace and was adjusting to retired life.
Throughout his career, Fernando managed and mentored countless others, creating a great reputation as a dedicated employee and loyal friend. While his golf game brought him more frustration than enjoyment, his friendships and social network brought him great professional success and personal joy.
Fernando was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather, who was always willing to lend a hand and share his words of wisdom. Fernando’s absence will be felt deeply by all those who knew and loved him; especially by his wife, Fabiola, mother, Vincenza, brother Joaquin, children: Raquel, Fernando (d), Cristina, Adam, and Omar, son-in-law, Sydney, and his grandchildren, Jazmin, Aveah, Joaquin, Nicolas, and a fifth on the way.
