Frankie Thursa McBride Farr died peacefully from this life Aug. 1, 2014, at her home in Amboy, Wash. She was born and raised and spent most of her adult life in Arizona.
Following the death of her husband Feb. 7, 1997, she resided near her children in Utah and Washington. She was over 96 years of age at the time of her passing and the last surviving child of nine children born to Sheriff Robert Franklin McBride and Clara Sims.
Frankie was born April 13, 1918, two months after the death of her father, who, as sheriff of Graham County was killed in the line of duty.
Frankie married her college sweetheart, Zechariah Philip Farr Aug. 15, 1940, in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were the parents of seven children.
She is survived by six of them, Phyllis Penrod (Lance), Jerald Philip Farr (Carol), Dennis McBride Farr (Melanie, deceased, and Cathy), Lana Jeanine Cheney (Glenn, deceased), Robert Franklin Farr (Connie) and Betty Ann Cheney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zechariah Philip Farr, and their eldest daughter, Clara Sue Chidester, along with one grandchild and three great-grandchildren. The posterity of Frankie and Phil includes seven children, 42 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the LDS chapel, 1255 South, South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held the night before from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 3688 W. 12600 South, Riverton, Utah, and at the church at 12:30 p.m. preceding the funeral.
Following the funeral service, Frankie will be laid to rest beside her husband Phil at the South Jordan Memorial Park, 10630 S. 1055 West, South Jordan, Utah.
