Leonard D. Chilldres of Congress died April 24 in Congress. He was 60. Mr. Chilldres was born Oct. 24, 1935 in Judsonia, Ark. He had lived in Arizona for the past eight years.
Mr. Chilldres was a member of the American Legion in California and a member of the Wickenburg/Congress Kiwanis Club. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Chilldres was a talented furniture maker, with some of his work sold to the Wickenburg Inn and Rancho Grande Motel. He also made cabinets and was a carpenter. He wrote many books and some of his manuscripts are currently being review by publishers. He was also a very good portrait painter.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Michael, Randy and Leonard III; four daughters, Heidi, Barbi, Lenina and Lela; 13grandchidren; and a brother, Richard.
Private family service has been held.
All arrangements were him handled by Brown's Wickenburg Funeral Home.
