Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, August 10, 2014 - Gary Ray McMackin, 63, passed away at his home Aug. 4, 2014. He was born in Torrence, Calif., July 11, 1952 to the late Barbara and Earl McMackin. Gary and wife, Sharon had been married for 20 years. They devoted their lives to one another in Hemet, Calif. They moved to Arizona in 1994. Gary enjoyed the outdoors boating with his family, water skiing and racing his flat-bottom boat. He also enjoyed football and NASCAR races as well as Harley motorcycles and dune buggies. His favorite pastime was working in his beloved 1,200-square-foot garage. He was also an avid collector of Eagles. Gary is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Doug McMackin of Lake Havasu City and Dan McMackin of Bellflower, Calif.; daughter, Rochelle Johnson of Bellvista, Ark. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Shawn Wille, Melissa Wille, Kristina McMackin, Austin McMackin, Blake McMackin, Elizabeth McMackin, Katie Sterling and Bret Sterling; and his puppies, “Maddie and Jake.” Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
