Arlene Mary Fowler, 84, passed away Aug. 2, 2014. She was born to the
late Alice and Al Carter in Huntington Park, Calif., Nov. 14, 1929.
Arlene was an only child and grew up in the Los Angeles area where she
met her husband Richard. He was known as a “Fonzi” type and they met at
the high school Arlene attended. They were married in St. Helen’s Church
in Los Angeles and had been married for fifty years before Richard’s
passing in 2000.
Before retiring, she worked as a head secretary/office manager for State
Farm Insurance, Sears Schwartz Engineering Co. and Anadite Metal
Processing in California.
She was a member of the American Legion. She was a lover of all animals,
especially cats and dogs and she also adored the character “Snoopy” and
had a large collection. She enjoyed watching movies, going boating on
the river and listening to music.
“She gave so much, but asked for so little.”
Arlene is survived by her sons, Craig (Kris) Fowler of South Gate,
Calif. and Glen Fowler of Norwalk, Calif.; cousin, Louise Cox of Palm
Desert, Calif. and granddaughters, Kristen and Heather; as well as many
extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fowler of Lake Havasu
City; her beloved cat “Squeekums” and her beagle, “Heidi.”
The family requests that donations may be made to the Western Arizona
Humane Society in Arlene’s name in lieu of flowers.
Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home &
Crematory.
