Karren Scott Solomon, 80, of Show Low died peacefully Aug. 5, 2014, surrounded by his family. According to his desires, he was buried Aug. 6 in Taylor, which was his birthplace and childhood home.
Known as Sam by family and friends, he served the community through various businesses, as Show Low mayor and council member, cemetery supervisor and in the Show Low Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years, the last 10 as the fire chief.
Sam also served faithfully in leadership positions in the local LDS church. His favorite areas of service were attending the LDS temple and cowboyin’ with his horse on the LDS church ranch.
Sam is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline Woolford Solomon; sons Scott (Nancy) and Steve (Johnna); daughters Dolores (Jack) Owens, Susan Solomon, Janelle (Dean) Wiltbank and Deanna (Brian) Cronin; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
